Armed with a firm belief in customer service from beginning its work, Melissa and Doug still remember what they were and what it took to get where I am now, more than 21 years later. Back in the late summer of 1988, Doug realized that he lovedMelissa. He had hoped that the feelings were mutual. Many want nothing less than a "yes", Doug decided it was safe, and instead of a marriage proposal, asked Melissa to go into business with him of the risks. A genius in the family because it worked! They designed business plan and went to work developing in the garage of Doug parents'. Ideas flourished in the creation of wooden toys, play, have fun and educational for children. Fast forward 21 years later and today, the happy coupleshare their love and passion for providing quality products, a tradition of long-term, durable materials.
Already in 1991, "Fuzzy Farm" puzzle of the first wooden toy in the Melissa and Doug Collection was introduced. The realism of "fuzz" the couple was surprised to learn that children across the nation, may not really know it was something of a pig fuzzy.
